Our Shared Purpose

Our shared purpose

God has given parents the responsibility to “bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). Our role is to come alongside of parents and assist them in their God-given responsibility to teach their children to:

1.     Know Christ as Savior, Lord, and Friend.

Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and   righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord. Jeremiah 9:23-24

2.     Observe the lives of godly teachers, staff, and pastors.

Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. I Corinthians 11:1
Be ye therefore followers of God as dear children. Ephesians 5:1

3.    Study and learn subject material that will prepare them for college and life.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. II Timothy 2:15

4.    Nurture a desire for the Word of God and the will of God.

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13

5.     Develop into a mature young adult, well-rounded, and equipped for successful living.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. I Tim. 4:12
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. Luke 2:52

6.      Glorify God in all their ways.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:5
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. I Corinthians 10:31
