Mrs. West's 6th Grade Class
Welcome to my class page. We have had a great start to the year. I hope the information on this page will help you as we work together in this learning experience. You may contact me anytime at email@example.com
I am so grateful for the Lord’s sovereign working in my life. He allowed me to be born into a Christian family. A couple months after I was born, my dad got a job in Midland, MI. In God’s goodness my parents heard a preacher over the radio and decided to visit Calvary Baptist Church where they found a church home and a place to raise a Godly family. It was at that church where I heard that Jesus Christ died for my sins and accepted the gift of salvation on Easter Sunday in 1976. A few years later I was baptized.
Starting in 3rd grade, I did have the privilege of attending a Christian school. During my junior year in high school, the Lord really did a work in my life personally. I committed my life to full-time Christian service during a chapel message preached by Dr. Ron Comfort. Later that year my principal challenged us students with what Christ endured at His crucifixion. It was at this point that the “head knowledge” of the cross took root in my heart.
Upon graduating from Calvary Baptist Academy I attended Bob Jones University. While there God continued to work in my heart teaching me so many life lessons. Following the Lord’s calling I majored in Elementary Education. Right before my senior year at BJU my parents moved to Carmel, IN. My former youth pastor suggested we visit Colonial Hills Baptist Church. It was here that I met the administrator of Colonial Christian School and heard of a possible need for a teacher the following school year. According to God’s wonderful plan I was able to fill that teaching position after graduation. Those early years of teaching brought many more invaluable lessons.
In God’s timing the single 6th grade teacher met her husband and started a family. I now have 3 girls who all attend CCS. God has been so good to let me return to teaching in my part-time role. So the life lessons continue!
I look back at each stage of my life and see God’s hand at work as He brought me to each specific place at a specific time to teach me what I needed. It truly overwhelms me when I consider what God has done in my life. I give Him all the praise!
